This plaque in the sidewalk was placed by Edward E. Peirson (1869-1925), who began as bookkeeper and manager at his farher's "drain pipes" business in the early 1890s.

His father was William G. Peirson (1845-1896), who was listed in Brooklyn city directories at 18th St. and 11th Ave., Brooklyn, from the late 1880s until his death in 1896.

Edward E.Peirson was six years old at the time of the 1875 New York State census. His faher, William G. Peirson, was head of household in Brooklyn's 7th ward, age 29, born Michigan, Fire Insurance Agent. The 1880 US census has William born Illinois. The New York Index to Death Certificates, 1862-1948 lists his death 3 September 1896 at the age of 50.

In the 1900 US census Edward E. Peirson lived at 1215 Bedford Ave., Brookyn, age 31, born Feb. 1869, "manufacturer drain pipe." Then in 1905 he lived at 579 Jefferson Ave., Brooklyn. This seems to be his residence until the end of his life. An obituary in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle 1 June 1925, pg. 20, reads, "Peirson - Edward E., on May 29, 1925, husband of Cora E. Peirson and father of Helen P. Grier. Funeral services at his late residence, 579 Jefferson av. Monday, June 1, at 8:30 p.m. Relatives and friends invited." Edward E. Peirson is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, lot 29584, section 199. His wife, Cora Conklin, and his father, William G. Peirson, are on the same gravestone.
